Don’t Let The World Keep You Down
Tres Mts., one of the newest “supergroups” to hit the scene, is the long-overdue and much-anticipated collaboration between King’s X bassist/vocalist dUg Pinnick on guitar and Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament on, well, bass. These guys have been promising to put something together for years, and they finally followed through with Three Mountains, 13 songs written and recorded at Ament’s Montana studio in 2001 and 2004 and finally released earlier this month. The group is rounded out by drummer Richard Stuverud from The Fastbacks, and it appears that for live shows, the trio has enlisted the help of Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, who also played guitar on the album.
Frankly, I was really hoping for something better from this partnership than what this clip delivered—something more along the lines of The Mob, which saw Pinnick teaming up with Kelly Keagy, Reb Beach, and Kip Winger. But then again, I have only heard the clips on iTunes and Amazon and not the full album, so I might wind up being pleasantly surprised.
Enjoy!
Update:
I didn’t realize that the embedded video would be the entire episode. If you don’t want to sit through the entire show, jump forward to the 37:31 mark.
In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out how to force the video to start there. It should be doable since NBC is able to, but then again, the embed code is completely different on their site than what they allow us to embed. Nice.
